1. Millennials are Authentic
Can we just forget that tacky used car salesman mentality? Selling Insurance is not about tricking some poor unsuspecting soul to spend their money on junk. The best insurance agents tell the truth about policies because they genuinely care. Your fundamental value to make a difference in individual lives and society is what makes you a good fit for insurance. You can help change the culture of the industry and that’s what we’re trying to do at Trusted American Insurance Agency.
2. Millennials are Relational
Insurance carriers don’t usually pay close attention to the people under their policies. They don’t care about financial penalties or wrongly billed medical codes that are costing a client thousands of dollars. Contrary to the classic salesman mentality, selling insurance is about caring for people. Millennials are so relational, in fact, that 51% of them would prefer to speak in person than any other means of communication (study by Bently University).
Your distaste for gimmicks and natural ability to be relational is what makes you such successful insurance agents. (Did you know beginner agents make between 30,000 – 60,000 a year?) You know how to earn a client’s trust and that’s why we want you on our team.
3. Millennials Make Great Entrepreneurs
It’s becoming less common for millennials to spend money on college because it’s outrageously expensive. Instead, this brave generation was named by Forbes “the true entrepreneur generation.” In fact, 27% of millennials are already self-employed (US Chamber of Commerce). If you join Trusted American Insurance Agency, you can still be an independent agent and, like any great entrepreneur, make your own successful business selling insurance. You own your business and we never take from your commission. But we will provide relevant training to help you be successful.
4. Millennials are Productive
Because you’ve grown up with technology at your fingertips with constant multi-tasking, you can be productive outside of an office with standard 9-5 hours. A recent study showed that 77% of millennials say flexible hours would make them more productive at work. Ask and you shall receive! Being an independent insurance agent gives you the ability to work when you want. True, there will be busier seasons (like the Annual Enrollment Period), but if you want to meet friends for drinks for an early happy hour, go ahead. You can be your own boss, and we can help you get there.
5. Millennials are Digitally Savvy
Unlike many in the older generation of agents on our team, millennial agents know how to put social media to use for their business – effortlessly. Selling insurance is a relational business (see point #2) and social media is an easy way to nurture relationships. While the older agents struggle to keep up, you will have the digital edge to finding leads, getting referrals and keeping business. Your ability to use technology for your business will make you more successful in our agency.
